Second Grade Grand Final 2014 2015

Second Grade Grand Final Miracle Win

After being bowled out 60 runs short in the rain interrupted first innings, Souths started out well on Day 3, having Uni 3 wickets down for 70 runs. A great start on Day 4 taking regular wickets and getting Uni out just after lunch. Souths were left with 242 runs to chase and the Skipper Rhys Yorke hit the winning run to take the outright win and Second Grade premiership. Scorecard in photo gallery.

From Skipper Rhys Yorke –

Everyone,

WOW! What a weekend…. I have finally just came back to earth sitting at work (severely hungover) realising what just happened. It has been a crazy ride but we finally got there and brought it home!!

Firstly I just wanted to thank everyone who has came down over the last 3 weekends of finals cricket. Especially Trent (who has spend more time down there then certain players) we couldn’t of done it without all of your your support. To see how much it meant to everyone was a great feeling and something the team and I will never forget.

Special mention goes out to the committee, selectors, canteen, supporters staff for your help throughout the year. I know I can be an absolute pain in the bum but thank you for sticking by me and my players throughout this season as well as the service and food at the canteen!

Also Sandie thank you so much for giving up your weekends to score for us!! We appreciate it so much and couldnt do it without you. I hope you have enjoyed the season as much as we have and thank you for dealing with our crap. Also thanks to Cheryl for all the great pictures you have taken of the few weekends. We really appreciate you doing that out of good will but these are photos of moments we will never forget.

Last but not least to the boys….. WE DID IT LADS!!! Everyone played their part in the match and throughout the season and to get us over the line on the weekend. Thank you all for a great season and lets do it all again next year!

Cheers
